The Student Council communicates student interests and organizes student activities. It is the place where students can share their ideas, concerns, and opinions of the school. Many student activities are organized by the Student Council. Various events which take place throughout the year have involvement from the Student Council, these include the Winter and Summer Talent Shows, Laser Tag and Movie Night.

Student Council Roles
President and Vice President - They lead the Student Council and hold meetings with the members of the Student Council. They make sure that members organizing events, get the support they need and ensure the smooth working of the council. They often communicate with Ms Ingram about school matters. To be elected for President and Vice-president you must show interest throughout your time in StuCo and you get to be elected. Elections are internal, meaning only Student Council members vote on the future president.
Secretary - The Secretary helps the presidents and often works with them. The Secretary is one of the most dependable members of the Student Council and usually is an engaged member fromm either MYP 4 or 5. Their responsibility is to record the activities of the Student Souncil as well as manage its budget.

Class representatives are chosen by each class individually and represent the interest of the students in that class. Each class from MYP1 to DP2 should have at least one representative. As a representative you often send infromation from the Student Council to your class and vice verse if there are any complaints or problems that the StuCo might resolve.

Members can often join to help out with events, for example making the poster or arranging for something to happen. They can also join to be more informed about what the StuCo is doing. As a member you can organize an event and make suggestions for school matters.

It is a temporary function and their responsibilities include: event planning, budget management for events, promotion, coordination of logistics as well as the recruitment of help to set up their events.
